Medical Programme
Here at Chelsea we great experience of preparing students for entry to the medical sciences. We have specialist expertise in advising on entry to disciplines from Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary Science, to areas such as Optometry, Physiotherapy and all other of the medical sciences. The function of the programme is to provide you not just with the academic requirements universities demand, but the many other important skills and attributes they will be looking for.
The introduction of additional entry examinations such as the UKCAT and BMAT, which test reasoning rather than knowledge, has also become vital for students applying to many of the medical sciences. The college has extensive knowledge of these tests and indeed certain of our staff were directly involved in the development of the UKCAT examination. As such we run in house training for all students required to sit these additional examinations. To complement the process we also have a wide range of guest speakers who visit the college from admissions tutors to those working in the profession itself.
Our aim is to give students real insight into what these high demand careers will entail and a realistic understanding of the demands and rigours that students will face. We pride ourselves on being able to give honest and impartial advice as to the suitability of particular courses for individual students. We also have an extensive knowledge of the additional demands faced by international students coming to the UK for these high demand disciplines. On this programme you will:

- Develop a thorough understanding of the interview and application process
- Become aware of the many ethical and training issues surrounding the medical sciences
- Receive advice, guidance and support in gaining relevant work experience
- Be prepared and practice for examinations such as UKCAT, BMAT and others
- Become a strong scientist with good self learning skills
- Understand the importance of skills such as problem based learning in the new medical curriculum
